Dropbox って自動アップデートだったんだっけ？　うちのはいつのまにか v2.2.1 になってた（(6/7) - Release Candidate Build - 2.2.1 « Dropbox Forums）。このバージョンからの変更かどうかは知らないけれど、通知機能がすこしリッチになっているのは確か。
